About our boxing classes

Our night classes are designed around a curriculum-based system so you can come in with no knowledge and start right away. Typically Tuesdays and Saturdays are instructor-led classes, meaning the entire class is doing the same drills. On Thursdays we have curriculum days — on these days you look at the curriculum and work on the next level in your progression. This ensures that you have all the basics. Often it's easiest to start on a Thursday if you are attending the night class.

Our noon classes are designed to get you in and out during your busy day schedule. We will do rounds on the heavy bags and with partners, so you can come in and leave when you need to for work.

Common questions

I've never boxed before — where do I start?
Start on a Thursday night. Thursdays are curriculum days, so you'll walk through the fundamentals in order at your own pace. If you'd rather have a full structured on-ramp, sign up for our 6-week Beginner Boxing Course.
Do I need my own gloves and wraps?
You'll want your own eventually, but loaner gloves are available for your first class. See our equipment guide for sizing help.
What should I wear?
Athletic shorts or joggers and a t-shirt. Boxing shoes are nice but not required — clean indoor athletic shoes are fine.
Will I have to spar?
No. Sparring is optional and only for members who've built the skills and want to. Most students never spar, and that's completely fine.
Is this a fitness kickboxing / cardio class?
No — this is real boxing focused on technique. You'll absolutely get a great workout, but the focus is on skill: footwork, defense, and combinations.
Can I compete?
Yes. Coach Ian has cornered competitors and can guide you if you want to test yourself in USA Boxing, TBA or amateur MMA events.
